Filenote: PDF retail from EBL. Publisher/EBL seem to have created it via taking their great epub and switched over to PDF + pagination instead of the common attractive PDF imprint.

Frank and often outrageous, this is often an account of a 40-something Englishwoman's epic 4,000 mile cycle trip from Seattle to Mexico, through the snow-covered Rockies, regularly on my own and camping out within the wild. She runs appalling hazards and copes in a gutsy, hilarious manner with exhaustion, climatic extremes, harmful animals, eccentrics, lechers, and a completely saddle-sore backside. We percentage her deep involvement with the West's pioneering previous, and with the tragic lines that history has left lingering at the land.

When she rides the pale trails of the vanished American Indian countries she monitors a robust sensitivity to the ambience of the staggering panorama, as though the moments of its bright previous are putting within the air, in basic terms awaiting her to conjure them up vividly—sometimes with humor, and often with ardour.

As she travels, the ghosts of Lewis and Clark, leader Joseph and Geronimo, Custer and loopy Horse—all the mythical figures of the previous West—ride together with her.

Paradise Now: The Story of American Utopianism

When relational coordination is improved, organizations can shift out the quality-efficiency frontier, thereby achieving higher performance on both dimensions.

As a result, there is more consistent communication with the patient and thus fewer chances for errors to occur, driving quality performance in a positive direction. Relational coordination also reduces the time spent carrying out redundant communication, searching for missing information, and waiting to hear from colleagues, allowing healthcare organizations to utilize all their resources more productively and driving efficiency performance in an upward direction. Let’s take a look at four very different studies that show how relational coordination matters for surgical performance, medical performance, long-term care performance, and—outside the healthcare context—airline performance.
